25 Quick and Healthy Breakfast Ideas For Busy Moms

Alright, let's talk about breakfast. In an ideal world we have time to make sure everyone in our family, including ourselves, get a healthy start to the day. In reality though, mornings can be hectic, rushed and, if you're anything like me, you are doing good to make sure that your kid gets to school with shoes on his feet. (Not my finest momming moment) So even though we know that it's important to start the day with a breakfast that fuels us for success, it's easier said than done.

I teach dance on Saturday mornings and when I ask the kids what they had for breakfast I often get the answer, "nothing". Considering that ballet starts at 8:30am, I get it, but I also know how important breakfast is to fuel them for the day. Studies have even shown that people who eat breakfast report better moods through out the day. Who doesn't want to be in a better mood? And what parent would pass up the opportunity to help their child be in a better mood right? Still, as much as we want to provide a good breakfast, it can seem like the impossible dream when the morning reality hits. This is why I wanted to share some delicious, quick and healthy breakfast recipes for you and your kiddos, even the pickiest of eaters can be satisfied.

Smoothies

You can't go wrong with throwing everything in a blender and calling it good. And kids love a good smoothie. It's a great way to get protein, fruits and even veggies in and it's a bonus that you can take them to go.

All of these are portable and you can make them ahead of time so that they are ready for the week. An hour or even thirty minutes of prep on Sunday can yield you a weeks worth of breakfast and save you time in the mornings.
